What type of makeup do you use for your brides?

Unveiling Beauty: The Makeup Products I Trust for Brides

As a makeup artist, each bride I work with is not just another canvas; she is a unique story waiting to be unveiled, a vision waiting to be brought to life. Over the years, I’ve curated a collection of makeup products that I trust implicitly to create breathtaking bridal looks. These products aren’t just about enhancing beauty; they’re about empowering brides to feel confident and radiant on their special day. Join me as I reveal the must-have makeup products in my arsenal for creating stunning bridal transformations.

1. Primer: Every masterpiece begins with a smooth canvas, and for bridal makeup, that starts with a reliable primer. I keep a few different types of primer to cater to different skin types and concerns. My go-to primers are usually a highly moisturizing primer such as the Hourglass N28 which is a primer and serum in one containing 28 nourishing ingredients for hydrated skin, and a primer that blurs imperfections, and minimizes pores, such as the Makeup Forever smoothing primer.

2. Foundation: For bridal makeup, I gravitate towards foundations that provide natural-looking coverage while still offering buildable options for those who desire more. The Nars Radiant Longwear Foundation is a staple in my kit, loved for its lightweight feel, natural finish, and ability to photograph beautifully without flashback.

3. Concealer: To conceal any blemishes or under-eye circles and highlight the high points of the face, a high-quality concealer is essential. I rely on the LA Girl Pro concealers for its creamy texture, blendability, and impressive coverage that lasts throughout the day and into the evening celebrations.

4. Setting Powder: To set the foundation and concealer in place and ensure a matte finish without looking cakey, I turn to the Huda Beauty Setting Powder. Its finely milled formula locks makeup in place, controls shine, and photographs flawlessly, making it ideal for brides who want their makeup to withstand tears, laughter, and endless photo sessions.

5. Blush: Adding a touch of blush to the bride’s cheeks brings life and dimension to her face, completing the bridal glow. As you may know, powder blush tends to fade off quickly so to ensure that your blush stays vibrant throughout your event, I make sure to use a liquid blush underneath such as the Rare Beauty liquid matte blush, and then I set it with a powder blush. I adore the Scott Barnes blush palette for its long-lasting formula, wide range of shades, and natural, buildable color payoff that complements a variety of skin tones.

6. Eyeshadow Palette: For creating mesmerizing eye looks that range from soft and romantic to bold and dramatic, a versatile eyeshadow palette is indispensable. The P Louise Bridal eyeshadow palette is my go-to choice for bridal makeup, offering an exquisite array of neutral shades with both matte and shimmer finishes, perfect for crafting timeless bridal looks that mesmerize and captivate.

7. Eyeliner: Whether the bride desires a subtle wing or a smoldering smoky eye, a reliable eyeliner is crucial for defining and accentuating the eyes. I rely on the Anastasia gel eyeliner pomade for its richly pigmented formula, and long-lasting, waterproof wear that withstands tears of joy and emotional moments throughout the day.

8. Mascara: To enhance the bride’s natural lashes and add volume, length, and curl without clumping or flaking, I reach for the classic Loreal Voluminous Mascara for creating dramatic, fluttery lashes that make the bride’s eyes pop in every photograph.

9. Lipstick: For the finishing touch that completes the bride’s look and adds a touch of sophistication and glamour, a reliable lipstick is essential. I use the Sceptr cosmetics lip products; the Powermatt for a matte finish, and Powerglass for glossy finish. I love it for its high quality, long lasting formula. I also keep a range of MAC cosmetics lipsticks.

10. Setting Spray: Last but not least, to lock in the bride’s makeup and ensure it stays fresh and flawless throughout the day and night, a setting spray is essential. Just like primers, I like to keep a variety of setting sprays to cater to that individual bride’s needs. Three that I keep in my kit are the One Size mattifying waterproof spray, Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless spray, and the Morphe Prep & Set Mist which doubles as skin prep.

Each of these makeup products plays a crucial role in creating unforgettable bridal looks that not only enhance natural beauty but also empower brides to feel confident, radiant, and beautiful on one of the most important days of their lives. With these trusted products in my kit, I’m honored to be part of each bride’s journey as she transforms into the best version of herself on her special day.

*I am always on the look out for the best products to use for my Bridal services so the products that I keep in my kit may change from time to time, so to keep you informed I will do my best to keep this list up to date–be sure to check back in when your Bridal appointment is near!*
